Jenison Robotics is a parent run non-profit program dedicated to motivating young people's interest in science and technology.
VEX Robotics is a low cost robotics platform to help prepare Jenison school students for the world of science and technology. Students develop technical expertise and skills to face life's upcoming problems. They discover they can achieve more than they had ever dreamed possible. We invite you to join us as a volunteer, spectator or parent.
We need help your help with our 5 Thursday league nights, in the Jenison High School Media Center
Help needed with:
The success of Jenison Robotics is made possible by enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers. All participating students are expected to have a family member volunteer at least 3 hours during each session. Extra fees will be levied to students that don't meet this requirement.
Every team needs a parent volunteer "coach". If we don't have enough volunteers to help coach, we will have to limit the number of students we can enroll. However, this is by far the most fun and rewarding role! The coach's job is to just encourage the students, and keep an eye on them. We can't stress one thing enough - No experience or technical knowledge is necessary! The coach is not supposed to build or program anything, just be there to support the students as they learn to build the robots, and make them work!
Every league and tournament competition requires volunteers to make it run smoothly. We need the parents to step up and help in the following roles at these events.
Our program needs help with fundraising and special events. Without an active Booster Club helping find sponsors and organize fund raisers, the Jenison Robotics program would not exist.
