Jenison Robotics 2021 Update

January 11, 2021

Practice - We are excited to be starting up practice this week at our temporary location. We will continue to practice safe Covid-19 policies by wearing masks, checking everyone's temperatures at the beginning of each practice and requiring every participant to fill out the Covid-19 questionnaire. Only team members and coaches are allowed at practice and as a reminder, no food is allowed. Don't forget your team must signup for practice on signup genius.

Building - We are pleased to announce that JPS has purchased a building for the Robotics program. We are so thankful for the opportunity that the school board has given our program and we agreed to help renovate the building for our use. The Jenison Robotics board and several volunteers have been working to prepare the building. In Phase One, we are creating a space for the 7th-12th grade VEX VRC programs for practice, leagues and tournament use. The completion of Phase One should be done by January 22. We have rehabbed the main floor bathrooms, flooring, HVAC and electrical specifically to meet our needs. The building is conveniently located on Baldwin at 1889 Baldwin across from Sandy Hill Elementary. Phase Two work will begin in the Spring to create a space for our VEX IQ 4th-6th grade students for the 2021-2022 school year.

Upcoming Season Events
- We have several small 12 team tournaments planned in the next few weeks. No spectators allowed. Coaches and participants only. Tournaments will be live streamed for families to watch. Team participation will vary, see info in Discord for signing up to attend these tournaments.

  • Our Fundraising Goal Was $14,209.38
For The World Championships Spring 2019

Jenison Robotics teams worked hard to build the best robots they can, and their hard work and dedication paid off! After first qualifying for the State Championship, three Elementary School teams, and two Jr. High teams earned an invitation to compete at the World Championship in April 2019!

We were excited for the kids to get a chance to compete against the best teams in the world. There are significant costs in sending these 18 students to this event. So we have asked our community to partner with us to help us raise funds to help cover the cost of hotel rooms, travel expenses and registration costs. Our goal was to raise $14,209.38 to assist these participants. Thank you for supporting these amazing local kids who showed they built some of the best robots in the State of Michigan and deserve to be competing with the best robots from around the world!

    Welcome to Jenison Robotics!

Our goal is to inspire students to pursue careers in science and technology. We do this by creating opportunities for students to engage in after school activities that create a very effective mix of technology and sports.
We stage team based robotics contests where students learn to participate in a fun, enriching, and worthwhile experience. No experience is necessary, we are here to help every participant be successful!
